Calling all disabled workers and labor organizers interested in disability justice, and disability justice activists interested in worker organizing!

Join PeoplesHub and Labor Notes for a popular education-style circle on Labor and Disability Justice: Towards Solidarity!

When: Wednesday, June 28, 7 to 9 p.m. Eastern / 4 to 6 p.m. Pacific
Where: Online, via Zoom
Cost: FREE

Disabled and chronically ill workers, especially those who are people of color, have always organized for justice on the job. This circle will highlight some of this work, as well as discuss opportunities and challenges around building solidarity between the disability justice and labor movements. The moderators, Azza Aliraifi and Deborah Rosenstein, will frame the space with questions and reflections for small- and full-group discussion.

You’ll leave with:

  • A better understanding of the opportunities and challenges that arise when working towards worker/labor & disability justice.
  • A commitment to organizing in ways that integrate disability justice into worker/labor campaigns & a greater awareness around worker/labor issues within disability justice efforts.
  • Concrete examples of worker/labor & disability justice solidarity in action.
  • Opportunities to network and collaborate in the future with other disabled workers and organizers at this intersection.
