GENOCIDE: The
$1.2 Trillion spending bill that Congress passed last Friday is packed
with poison pills.
This
bill, meant to fund essential government functions and avert a
shutdown, included provisions like:
- A
further $3.8 BILLION in military aid to Israel to perpetuate their
ongoing genocide.
- A BAN on
funding for UNRWA – the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for
Palestine Refugees – through the end of 2024.
- A threat
of sanctions against the UN Human Rights Council for exposing Israeli
war crimes.
- BLOCKING the Palestinian Authority from filing their own case with the International Court of Justice.
This bill guarantees the continued
starvation of Palestinians in Gaza – half of whom are CHILDREN – while
providing legal cover and material support for Israel to continue
carrying out horrifying war crimes with American public
funds.
This bipartisan “Starve the Children”
bill is a flagrant violation of U.S. and international law, and there
must be accountability.
Our campaign is
calling for an independent investigation into U.S. funding of genocide
and, if warranted, criminal prosecution. Will you join me in that
call?

In January, the ICJ ruled that Israel’s
assault on Gaza could plausibly be called a genocide, and required
Israel to allow aid to enter Gaza even as a final ruling is
pending.
Israel has not complied, and in fact
has INCREASED their brutal assault and intentional starvation of
Gaza.
Today, March 28,
2024, the ICJ reiterated their original order and further stipulated
that Israel must allow unhindered aid into
Gaza immediately. Today’s ruling also ordered the IDF not to block
aid, and to refrain from committing acts which violate Palestinian
rights as a protected group.
The cold hard truth
is that none of Israel’s conduct in Gaza would be possible without the
substantial and ongoing financial and military support of the United
States government.
There is no peace without justice. We need an immediate
ceasefire, an end to the slaughter in Gaza, and full release of BOTH
Israeli hostages held by Hamas and Palestinian hostages held in
Israeli prisons. But to secure a permanent ceasefire and an end to
Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine, we must have accountability
for these war crimes.
